Sam, I'm still waiting for the auction sale where there is just me, and the auctioneer!  Richard, some stuff has been going for cheap lately but I doubt that JD will get stolen. You never know though.

Nice tractor, Sam! Wish y'all luck at the auction! My brother in law is selling a JD disk plow.. Told him I was needing a disk, so I went and looked. That sumbitch takes way more tractor than I have. Probably 20' batwing style disk. Heavy! My 100 hp tractor would pull it well until I engaged the ground with it!  Barry, bet it pulled a little harder than a mower....grin

Auction sale are near nonexistent in NW Ontario. The was an auction sale coming up a few years back, all the folks were talking about it. Not farm country, not much livestock, no sale barns.
A friend said, what's the point, it's worth so much, or it is not. I shock my head.
Back home I looked up the auction sale history. Back in the Roman days Roman soldiers would bring back the spoils of war, ram their sword in the ground to announce the sale, and sell to the highest bidder.

Rick, I would guess it sells for $45-50k.
$40k would be a steal IMHO.

Personally, I think if you paid 50 for it, you could drive it for 10 years and sell it for what you have in it. Those with way more hours than that are bringing more money right now.

Who'd have guessed? You would think these guys would be too worn out with that working from dawn to dusk thing going on. Farmers have the most sexPlease, they are English and there are a scant hundred of them left...what have they got to compare to? Seriously, they think fish and chips is spelt "cuisine".

There's plenty of agricultural land out there that can be used so all you guys that think farmers are getting wealthy.....all you gotta do is get up off your dead arses and grab you some of it! So until that time....you fellows just keep driving your little slick cars with smooth tires and leave the job of feeding the country to the REAL MEN!!

I come from a whole family of these “real men” and have been one myself. Coffee shops all over the country fill up with us every morning, while folks with smooth tires are on their way to a job. Or on their way home from one. Done a lot of hunting while farming, had time to do it. Holidays with the family because I could. Cut wood for the stove or caught fish when the time was right, and a lot of other benefits. Now, when there is work that has to get done, like planting, harvesting, spraying, etc., you work to get it done, long hours as necessary. Equipment breaks down, crops fail, etc. But when we lose, most times there is crop insurance, and when we win, we make a haul. It ain’t all bad. It ain’t all good, either, but farmers ain’t always broke or worn to a frazzle, we just let everyone think that. Cuts down on competition.😁
