OMG!

I shouldn't have hauled 30,000 lbs gross weight? whistle

This is a big time operation. We need a State Police escort with flashing lights and sirens. Add in a helicopter to make sure the coast is clear. Better make sure we have an ambulance following up the rear just in case we run over someone dog along the way. Hell, if we're gonna do it, let's do it right gotdammit. laugh

I'd price it at $500 on one of my projects.

You seem to have a finger in a bunch of pies,
Someone has to have a dump truck with a trailer,
A diesel pickup with a trailer (be sure it's heavy enough)
or a rollback that can handle this. 12k is heavy, but not
even close to a big deal.

If you are lucky, it's a friend,
you buy fuel,
buy a good meal,
leave the tank full, and c-note in his hand.

And enjoy 4-5 hours good company.

Or, look to an excavator, logger... someone that does this
in order to do their job. But it's not their job. They might be inclined
to take a little drive in the evening for a bit of cash.

If you get one of these "really professional" professionals,
You just get pickle barrel splinters in your belly.
And told YOU, got lucky.

Me?
If I think it would make it,
I'm driving that thing Saturday or Sunday morning,
Before daylight if the lights work.
Starting while I still have to squint if not. (Car following with flashers)

We may need a separate thread to discuss the appropriate costs for those services.

A one ton truck and a dually tandem can EASILY haul it. It’s 6 tons according to tractor data. Com

$5 a mile is too high . It’s more like $2 a mile , but with short mileage. $500 easy, maybe $650 tops

He is only going 62 miles so $310 at $5/ loaded mile

You pay empty miles also, plus pro's charge
loading fee's.

Sidegripe.
How come every thing is an added fee on any truck service I
might ever use.

When I made a living in long haul, with the exception of driving,
dang near everything I had to do was free. At least, I wasn't paid.

Probably $500 ish around here... Its less than 102" wide so no wide load needed just watch your height. A one ton and dual tandem would haul it in style easily and safely. Folks that do dirt work move stuff that small everyday . Might find a guy that does backhoe work that would do it pretty cheap as that is a pretty standard sized unit...

Throw the mileage numbers out the window in this case. It becomes a time driven job. I’d haul stuff 62 miles for $500 all year long.

People call me for a quote on getting small tracts shredded..

I find out where the property is located and how big it is.

You ought to hear the folks when I tell them that the cost will be my minimum of $3-400... eek

"But, but... I only have 4 acres!"

Yes. But I have to hook up the gooseneck, load the tractor and shredder, drive the 20 miles to your place, unload the tractor and shredder, shred your property, then load it all back up again, and drive the 20 miles back, and unload it again, and then unhook the gooseneck.

"Oh."

They think the only work that's done is driving a tractor back and forth on their property. shocked

I would not road the thing home.

I like the idea of contacting a tractor dealer and have them pick it up to do a service. Then have them deliver it to you. Would be great if you could find a dealer between you and the backhoe location. That is a novel way to get the job done.

What’s the actual shredding cost on a job like that? $80? smile

Probably have to give him his half day if he doesn't already have work. I'll bet it's more than $400.

Op, try a rental company, maybe they can move it with one of their rigs.

The escort services advertising here would be of very little value in the moving of a tractor but they claim to be able to help you pass the time. GD

Couple years ago we hired some local guys to haul up a loader tractor from Billings.

They ran down empty and came out to about $3.50/mile, $1100-1200. 320 miles one way give or take.

Depending on how the exhaust pipe is setup you should cover it if the engine has a turbo.
