Couldn’t find a thread already so figured I would start one. I’ve also benefitted from these threads on 257 Rob and 280 Rem so hoping this helps someone else out.

Found out today that my Rem 700 6mm really does very very well with 95 Nosler ballistic tips and 45g of IMR 4831. Also shot good with 85g Sierra HPBT and 46g IMR 4831. Still playing with RL17 but it seems promising.

85gr BTHP Sierra with Reloader 19 shoots under 2.3 inches at 300 yards My Coyote load but has taken Antelope impressively

100gr BTSP Hornady with Reloader 22 does the same at 300 yards. Was my Antelope and Mule Deer load but for Deer I’m going to a tougher bullet but for Antelope it’s Great.

I’m going to try 95gr Nosler BT with Reloader 26 on my next deer hunt bought the bullets just need to take the time and work up a good load.

I shot 6mm Rem enough to burn out a Rem barrel. Virtually all of my shooting/hunting was done with 100-grain Interlocks and Reloder 22. It clocked just under 3000, but could have gone higher. It hammered deer real well. It would be worth trying some of these new powders. It also shot Speer and Nosler just fine. I just settled on the Interlock, as it did everything that I needed.

46 grains of RL 19, 105 grain A Max... or 115 grain Berger...

but this is on a long action.... bullet seated to magazine length...

85 grain Sierra Varminter SP, 46 grains of IMR 4350, touching lands so I can only run 1 in chamber and 1 in magazine. Hell of a deer/coyote load, I cannot count the number of deer my dad and I have shot with this bullet since he started using it in the early '80s.

Not as tough as the 85 grain HPBT which I thought was a bit too tough for coyotes as I saw several runners, deer ran more than they do with the SP version as well.

100 grain Sierra Prohunter, 44sh grains of IMR-4350. DRT results on whitetails.

95 grain Partition with 44sh grains of IMR-4350. 1 DRT on whitetails and 1 ran about 50-60 yards with a heavy blood trail. May try the Partitons out again this year if I don't pack a new to me 7mm WSM.

70 grain Nosler Varmageddon, tank full of Hybrid 100V. Only recall killing a couple coyotes with this bullet but will try it on some more this winter.

R19 and 90gr nosler AB for my 18.5" model 7

100V under a 95 NBT. Fast and accurate.

On my 6mm 700 Varmint (my deer gun till the Model 7 on layaway gets here late in the month) doesn't seem to give a hoot what powder I use
BUT RL-17 has been my "go to" powder for 85-100 grain Speer and does great with 80 grains too but, if I want screamin' meemie velocity, Superformance will pull away from Rl-17.

(In 85 grain bullets SF will do the same but don't tell anyone since "Hodgdon don't list Superformance for 85 grain!!" LOL)

I won't quote velocities simply because my 6mm has the throat lengthened and loading to 2.825" they have a .075" jump to the lands.
Wasn't my idea. I bought it that way but......VAROOOM!

1/2 inch MOA pretty regular with any of the Speers. I been dinking around with 95gr VLD and 95gr NBT, but while they are ok, I haven't seen a big enough reason to sell the 1100 Speer bullets sitting here. HA

Finally got around to trying 90-grain Accubonds in my custom Model Seven. The rifle has teased me with the occasional outstanding group since the day I got it, but I just tried these Accubonds with Re16. I fired three 3-shot groups at 200 yards, the groups measure 1.67, .82. and .67 inch. Charges ran 43.5 to 44.1 grains and velocity ranged from 3312 to 3263 fps. That's only nine data points, but it appeared that ES was decreasing nicely as the charge went up. Those consecutive sub-half MOA groups give me hope that I've found the right combo for an apparently very picky rifle.

That sounds like a good shooting load!

I had nine pieces remaining of virgin brass so I decided to load them all up to 44.1 grains. Then I remembered to double-check for OAL function in the magazine of my rifle because some difficulty popped up at the range...and it turns out I have to seat 120 thousandths off the lands, where the loads I just tested were seated 90 thousandths off. I screwed up when I was checking that out when I started to play with the ABs in this rifle.

I'll go ahead and shoot the nine 44.1 grain loads seated deeper and see what happens. I've been stubborn over the years and didn't want to seat anything more than about .035" off the lands but I've become more open to experimenting with it over the years. IIRC, on another forum we both know it was said several years ago that ABs like to be seated deeper. Who knows...it may work even better. Truth is, if it'll put five in an inch I'll be more than perfectly satisfied.

Seating them deeper may well pay off. I just measured a couple of five shot groups from one of my 308s with the bullets (168 Amax) jumping at least 0.125". The groups were 2.15" and 2" at 300 yards aimed by a 1.5-4x20 scope.

Yeah, I won’t even mess with an Accubond seated less than .050 off myself. In about 30 rifles I’ve never seen one really shoot that close.

Chances are it’ll shoot fine that far back RR, you just might have to tweak your charge to get back on the node.

H 414 ( now W 760), was the most accurate powder with 100 grain bullets and down....

at 47.5 gr CHARGE of H 414, with a 70 TNT Speer or 75 grain HP, was not only the most accurate load all the way out to 400 yds...
but also started out with an MV of 3675 fps with the 75 grain bullets...3725 fps MV with the 70 gr Speer...

Mounted on a 24 inch stainless barrel, Rem 700 LA, 1 in 7 twist....heavy magnum contour.

48 grains of RL22 behind a 100 grain sierra spbt has dropped everything from red deer to rabbits. It has proven to be highly accurate, but I couldn’t tell you the speed of the load as I haven’t run it over a chronograph. I really like the 6mm rem, seems really easy to get to shoot well.

I’ve always liked IMR4350 and IMR4831, so much I have not tried many others. I’d bet many other powders in this burn range would work very well.
I’m planning on switching to more temperature resistant powders.
I’ve only had issues with hot temperatures, it was with WW760 AKA H414.

RL 19 seemed to solve that problem here in Oregon.... don't know how temp resistant it is, but there were no issues on 100 degree days.

6 mm is my second favorite round, after a 6.5 x 57...
