I killed a big 10 point in 2015 with my EG in 358. Hit the buck at about 110 yards. Completely smashed him. If you are careful, it shouldn’t be a worry but I am a flat lander. You hunt in thick, vertical country. So your concerns are definitely warranted. I would worry too.

Roy,
You hunt in thick, vertical country. We have 4.2 acres of actual land per acre it's so steep. Any steeper and there'd be an overhang.

I like the R and the 308 a lot and if I didn’t already have one, I would buy the one in the link. $800 isn’t that bad for that rifle.
