Nice early Remington 870 Wingmaster in 16 gauge. I believe the XX date code puts it at a 1951 date of manufacture and have read that would make it a first year production gun. The 28" barrel is modified choke and has the same serial number on it as the receiver. The bore is clean. The stock has marks from use but is overall in great shape. The metal is excellent with a few dried oil stains and high edge thinning in a couple spots. Nice deep blueing. Mechanically smooth. I have many pictures available through email or text if interested. The first unconditional “I’ll take it” followed by a pm gets it. Must ship to an ffl who will accept the gun directly from me (a non-ffl). If I ship through an ffl it’s an extra $25. Ships only where legal in the lower 48. Most forms of payment are accepted (Including PayPal). $435 shipped

Every red blooded American should own at least one 870. If I lost mine, this one would be coming to my house.

Nice. If had not picked up a mid 60's model a couple years ago I would be interested.

Choke? Barrel length? Does the barrel have a serial number on it that matches the one on the receiver?

The listing has been edited to include barrel info. Thanks to all - this is a great shotgun from a great era.

Very nice gun, in very nice condition, good luck with the sale. Very interesting comparison to my first year production 760, date code of AYY puts it at March 1952. One can see how the 870 inspired Remington designers when creating the 760.

Does this 870 have the milling on top of the receiver and the barrel? I am interested.

The top of the receiver is matted but the barrel is smooth. It is sold pending funds at this time though.
