I just got a Vortex Viper scope that has been spray painted in the tacticool camo fashion. However, being as how I'm just not cool like that, I'd like to remove it. Is there any way to do so without messing up the original finish on the scope? Thanks, Troy.

I've done it before with that spray paint remover.

Should just wipe off with no damage to the scope.

Yep. Acetone should work too.

Be very damned careful with that. Acetone and seals might not be too friendly.

Citra-strip is my favorite spray paint removal. It isn't caustic and is just harsh enough to remove the paint. I like the liquid in a bottle over the spray.

General use as a riflescope should take it right off.
