Youngest boy went elk hunting with me this season. He drew a cow tag, me a bull. Wade hasn't been to elk camp since he was a bitty little shaver. Little chit got saddle sored and froze his azz off last time, and hasn't wanted to go back since... He was maybe nine then, and 30 now. Well, this spring he decided he wanted to go again. I don't know if he really wanted to hunt, or just wanted to make sure the ol' man didn't die alone on the mountain from a heart attack, or such. No matter, I love him like a son(which he is, grin), and welcomed the thought of him going. It was really nice having him along, as he done most of the work (think rented mule).... We shared wheelie-cart duties day before going in, and he hauled all his meat out to the truck first night. Spent the night in the truck and I stayed on the mountain. He pushed the buggy back up sunday morning while I tried for a bull. Kid made a nice shot on a cow with Miss Polly, and drilled her again when she made her feet. Both shots were within about 6 inches of each other. First shot exited and we recovered the other 140 Amax under the hide on the off side. After not being able to find a bull, I decided to forego the rest of the hunt to get the meat taken care of as it was purty warm out. He took the camp load out, without letting me have a turn in the push-cart derby. So we came on home a bit early. Already planning next year and having BOTH boys go....

last time....

Cool pics, nice hunt. Wish we had more elk up here in Canada. We have two small herds, one over near Haliburton, & another near Burwash towards Sudbury. Would like ta get into the Burwash area. Dad worked in the logging industry near Burwash in the 30s. Cool dog!!! best company going , other than family. Bill out 🐾👣🇨🇦

Looks like a great rock pile. There's a spot in Wyoming I frequent when I score a tag. Haul my low boy lawn chair up there the day before the season. Taken 3 bulls while sitting in that chair.

I might could be a puuuuuzzzzy. But at least I'm a puuuuzzzy that can tell the diff between a ham and a shoulder.....

The shoulders came out in game bags, along with the tenders and straps.....

[Linked Image from i26.photobucket.com]

But he didn't get one of me using the other frame with the bagged meat, whether it matters to you, I could give a flying fook.

Sorry again, I’m working right now and only saw this picture before I posted “Congrats on a good hunt” and the Pussy tease!

From this angle, still looks like a shoulder. Maybe your height dwarfed it. 🤷🏾‍♂️

[Linked Image from i.postimg.cc]

Maybe, I’m just used to Roosevelt hams, too.

Again, not trying to turn your moment in the sun into a fight like you...Your kid did good!

Happy you can still get it done! Good Job! 😎

Then you will have to edit your video to a public video instead of private, I think.

This is your video and it won't let me watch it.
