Looking for a lightweight scope for my Barrett Fieldcraft 6.5cm. Sportsman is closing them out at $399. I went and looked at them today. I was very impressed with optic clarity. It looks like I can reset the turret if I decide to dial (most likely will just use the reticle 95% of the time). Have any of you guys have good or bad reports? Most my shots will be under 600 and the reticle goes out to 24moa. Should be plenty of reticle usage.
Anything at that price point beat these?

I'm pretty confident that nothing will.beat them optically at that price point. I have a couple of the 1.5-8's. The glass is excellent and they are really nice to get behind. I have one on a .280 that I have shot out to 500 using the reticle with very good results. I have no intention to dial it. I have other scopes for that. The scope I have that I can compare it most closely to is a Z3. I think the Razor is actually a little better.

I had one for a while but too much parallax drove me crazy. Loved it other than that.

Just mounted one on a 7-08. For the closeout price I couldn't pass a couple up. So far so good. I wouldn't hesitate if I were you. That being said, the parallax is a little hard to get used to but it's manageable

The parallax thing is interesting. Is it only at max magnification? I've had no issues with the 1.5-8's that I have.

Interesting. I had the 2-10x40 for a while, but parallax was not an issue at all.

So what is the problem with the parallax on these scopes

I’ve got two of them. I like them a bunch, but wish they were parallax adjustable. Perfect scope for a general purpose hunting rifle. The 3-15 is parallax adjustable and is one ounce heavier(nothing). Also has very nice glass.
I think vortex discontinued the 2-10. At $399, buy two.

So what is the problem with the parallax on these scopes Could be that the glass is so good that it really is obvious. At any rate I never did find the range where parallax was non existent. 1/2 to 1 moa shift is just too much for me to be confident in and be able to shoot consistent groups with. The lower power comment is probably valid but the hash marks are typically calibrated for max power. (without a spread sheet to figure out drops).
