Mine is a first generation LCP. But I bought it shortly after the recall stuff,...so mine had whatever done to it done. I don't remember what it was. I guess the plastic guide rod was one thing.

I think they were also dropping the magazine during firing and they recessed the mag button a bit.

Also,..I use the flat bottom magazine. With the Hogue grip I can get my middle and ring finger around the grip. My little finger curls under the magazine,..and I think that may help prevent an unintentional magazine drop. The Hogue grip also keeps your fingers a bit more away from the magazine release button.

The initial offering of the LCP (2008) was recalled for the replacement of some fire-control parts ... it didn't always pass a drop-test. The LCP has never had a plastic guide rod - it's always been metal.
