Looking a year out, probably Thanksgiving due to school schedules. Would hope to bring a few other dads and their sons. Not looking for the top shelf, top dollar outfit but a place that has the birds and has the ground. Probably need access to some dogs and handlers as well.
My boys seem to like the birds more than the big game I’ve dragged them along on. So if that’s what works why argue? I value much of the experience here on the Fire and hope someone can make a good referral. PM’s are fine. Thanks. Blixen

Lots of options, how old are your kids? Wild birds, put and take? Stay in motels and be driven around, or stay at the place you hunt?

My two boys are 17 and 20. Relatively speaking, they know how to handle themselves and shotguns. Looking for wild birds. Would hope to bring some friends and their boys. I know that changes the dynamic. A group of 15 or 20 is different than a Dad and two sons. Groups and fields and pushing those fields can be effective. Just different than 3 individuals obviously. Just for the camaraderie staying at the place you hunt is fun but not absolutely necessary. Sometimes escaping to a motel room for downtime isnt so bad. I hope my answers have helped paint a picture of what Im looking for.

You might look at Halverson Hunts by Kennebec SD, or ToriLil by Vivian, or Daybreak Ranch north of Highmore to get started

Krokow Ranch near Pierre. SD. My friends and I just returned from a successful and low key hunt. Also will not break the bank cost wise.
