That looks to be bigger than Ingwe's whitetail that grossed 7 & 3/8 !!

Unlike some of you puds who aren't taking this seriously and are just messing around and playing, I take dink slaying seriously.

I've got my dink patterned. I'm just waiting for him to get those nubs rubbed down a little more then I'll put an arrow though his lungs.

In all seriousness, when he rubs out, he's gonna be too big. Just ask your esteemed judge how he got his position...by shooting a couple that would beat that one out handily...

Just don't use an 870. I shot a dink smaller than that in Guernsey County a couple years. The esteemed Pooh-Bah deducted style points because of using a shotgun with slugs. Even a bribe couldn't sway his opinion.

I am heading out in a bit to see if I can shoot a small Canadian Dink- I have been scolded and shamed several times in this competition over the years as Canadian Dinks apparently just don't Cut it when it comes to “leading edge small” !
I have one anterless tag left However, so hope springs eternal !

Man I don't think I can compete! I haven't shot a deer under 130 inches in years! Only get one buck tag.

It takes hard work and commitment to compete here. Few have what it takes.

Sorry for the suspense gentlemen.

Last Saturday my wife drew a women's hunt on a military base here in Ohio. She was allowed a buck and a antlerless or two antlerless. I was allowed two antlerless.

They gave you a spot to hunt and you had to stay there. So success largely depended on where you were placed. Some couples got a buck and all three antlerless. Others saw none all day.

We didn't see anything until about 11oclock. When a little doe came through the brush in front of us. Unable to make a shot, we were discouraged as we just weren't seeing many deer like I had in years past hunting there.

At 11:50 a little one came out and I pointed it out to my wife and she began to get set up for the shot. She hit a tree directly in front of the deer but the deer just stood there staring. She worked the slide on her Mossberg 20ga and somehow jammed it up with her glove. I attempted to unjam her glove and she told me to shoot the deer, so I did.

Bonus points for stealing it from my wife?

This monster dressed out right at 40lbs. Although I don't have a scale picture unfortunately.










Last is a picture of a buck shot in the next unit over. To be successful at dinking you have to be willing to work hard, be persistent, and pass sub par bucks like that.

Our gun season starts Saturday, so I know who I have to aim for....you gonna be hard to beat.
