I have found references to the book on this forum. Where is it purchased and what is the title? Is it one of the better ones or are there better you could recommend?

M. L. McPherson,"Accurizing The Factory Rifle". I think Midway,Cabellas,Brownells and others carry it.Around $40.You may find a good deal at amazon.com,they carry used .I don't have it,I'm waiting for the sequel,"Accurizing The Average Middle Aged Rifle Shooter". <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

eddieleon,

It is a very good book and has particularly good information on the Marlin Model 336, Savage Models 170 and 99. When I built the Model 336 stainless Bearrr specials in .356 for 260Remguy and myself, I used all of Mr. Mc's tips. Of course, I practiced on 260Remguy's rifle and then did mine! I'm not sure I like his suggestion for "skeletonizing" the Model 99 forearm, but I might try it on one (1) of the Models 99E that I bought in SD a couple of weeks ago. If it doesn't work, I can always lose it at a pawn shop or replace it with some junk wood from GPC.

Sincerely,

Bearrr264

Jeff,
Thanks for the input. I must have a long wait if the middle aged shooter hasn't been published for I am past that time.

Bearrr,

Thank you. I hear these things on the web and never know the value of them until I have spent my money or ruined somthing.
