Hey lefty, give us some details of the hunt. Some of us can't kill an elk with a rifle to save our lives!

Ok, for those that like a huntin story, Its my grandsons first 5 pt. Bull Elk, with Gramps 99 243, which is the story,,, yes light caliber, but shot placement is key for us, not an issue, I grew up shooting model F lever, being a lefty,, he"s shot it since age 9, taken 5 deer, this year { now he drives} went out , took a nice muley buck at 208 yds on his own, yes one shot as all his kills, really. So to the Elk hunt , he with his dad drew bull elk tags, no doubt on his gun choice. They saw a few each day no shootin, day 3 he left camp after lunch, as it was his dads snooze time. My advice to him ,ya cant kill em in camp" Got a cell phone call " Got Em" 1/2 mile from camp. Story 2 cows stepped out at 80 yds, followed by the Bull with 2 more cows, took a moment or two for cows to give him shot at bull, only 75 yds so made a good shot , staggered the bull, so made second shot, he"s down, called hadnt even began field dressing yet, Yep he was pumped, I got up there 1/2 hr. later and they were hoisting it up the meat pole, rugged Hells Canyon area of NE. Oregon , but this one was 4 wheeler acc. The photos with the 99 across the antlers was my reason for the post, turned out great, but getting aphoto downloaded on this site is beyond my skills, Icould email is someone an attach he pulled it off, I had pleasure of skinning, ancutting and wrapping the last 2 days,, whew wore my finger out!
