From what i remember, that was a limited run, made for 1 year. Around 1994 or 95.
I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

Winchester customer service says it was made in 1997, but they could not tell me if its a a featherweight, custom, limited run or anything else to identify it.
Anyone have a 1997 catalog?

Wish I could see the barrel markings. Is it a factory Winchester barrel? Marked as a Carbine?

The heavy varmint was available in 1997 as a pf 22-250 with a blued receiver/SS barrel. However, it was 26” and a synthetic stock. Could it have been lopped and put in wood? What’s the barrel profile and are there Winchester markings on it?

Its a winchester barrel, profile is tapered and not what id expect a cut heavy barrel to look like. Its marked model 70 SA 22-250. Its in the plain walnut stock without the fancy fore end.

Just looked through my catalog collection and went through ‘96, ’97, and ‘98 - only PF blue/ss 22-250 cataloged during that time was the heavy varmint. So, it could have been a non cataloged run as bsa suggested, or maybe someone screwed a ss barrel onto a ranger pf or some other variation of a frankenchester ... Hope that helps!
