This was in Unit 55 in Wyoming -- after riding 88 miles and hiking another 6-10. And it's not at all an exaggeration to say the wolves killed more elk in that valley in 6 days than we did....

I've also watched bears lay in wait for moose cows with calves. They are very smart animals, but they are also serious killers of game.

The bulls in the video (there were 12 in total in the 320-330 class) were at 9:00 am on day one of the hunt. We were hoping to find one in the 350 class, which didn't work out mostly due to there being grizzlies and wolves in every drainage.

So I did what I typically do in these situations: pass on a chip shot early only to end up taking one that's nearly identical only further away and after 5 days more work... wink
