When I was looking I couldn't find a length for the new Barnes 22cal LRX's. I just got mine in, thought I would share: ~1.176" David

What’s the minimum velocity for expansion?

I would be very interested in hearing bearing surface length!

What’s the minimum velocity for expansion? I'm assuming 1600fps like the other lrx's, but haven't asked Barnes. David

Should run within 50-75fps of the 75 ELD-M at the muzzle. Pretty darn close to .224” killing perfection, IMO..... Thanks for the measurements!!

HE Y'ALL....do y'all have loading data for this bullet..?? Pete I haven't gotten that far yet, but I'm betting a case full H4895 will push it to 2900 fps in my 223AI. Probably be a few months before I get a chance to work up loads for this bullet, too many other projects to work on at the moment. I'll post something when I get it done. David

Got a box of these to comply with our stupid ass CA anti lead/hunting laws.
Haven't got a chance to work up to pressure in 1-7" 22CM.
Anybody killed anything with them yet?

That bullet brings a renewed interest to my mind with regards to the fast twist .22's for big game. Will be interesting to see what the Creedmoor shooters find out.
Now with even more aplomb

Anybody killed anything with them yet? Higster, wouldn't the 75 grain BTHP from Hornady, or the A Max or ELD qualify as to being Lead free? I don't have to deal with it, so never really gave it a thought.

J, I think you'd find it to your satisfaction....those long length 22 cal bullets really can reach out there...

Sorry for the long delay folks, I've finally done a little load development on the 77lrx. This is a 21" Hart 223AI 7" twist. I'm pushing things, but I'm confident I'm well under 65K psi, my rifle, work up your own loads following safe practices, yada, yada, yada...
1x Lapua Brass, CCI400, H4895 24.8grns, COAL 2.390" (~about 0.005" shy of a kiss), standard 223AI reamer, avg H20 capacity 31.9 grrns @ 1.740 case length, 5 - shot avg velocity = 2922fps.
I was only able to shoot a few groups before the rain ran me out, but the results looked promising. Will try to get some targets to post next time.
