Meopta’s website shows this scope as a current modeL. I was sure it was discontinued a few years ago, Eurooptic and Optics Planet show it as discontinued. Anyone know what gives?

I'm sure it was discontinued also.

They stopped offering it in the US. It's still current in Europe and we brought these in on a deal as we feel that this illuminated 3.5-10x44 Meopro for only $469.99 is a steal on a quality scope

Looks like only an ounce of weight penalty for the illumination? Can you confirm that Doug - 16.7 oz?

According to our specs that is correct; 1 ounce difference between the 2 (even on the MeoStar R1).

Thanks Doug. Always liked the non illuminated; especially your edition. Wish they still offered it here.

I'm doing my best to grab quality scopes at sharp pricing. These Meopros certainly are great quality and for the price very tough to find anything better

Ronnie, I have 2 of them. One on a 243 and one on a 30-06. They are absolutely awesome scopes. You will love the scope. And yes, the illuminated model is only an ounce heavier than the non-illum model. With that small of a weight penalty, choosing the illuminated model is a no brainer. I live in Eastern Europe, only a few hundred miles from where they are made and you will be buying that scope for less than I paid for mine. I refuse to mount very heavy scopes on my rifles. I could not find a better scope around the same weight and other spec's that I wanted at any price. RJ

Agreed.
Anyone know what a kenton elevation turret retrofit would cost? Their website calculator isn’t working and I’m not in a position to call them ...

This one intrigues me. If I can sell the Swaro Z3 I have in the classifieds, I think I'll pick one up if they're still available.
