Yep I full length without the expander ball. Makes all brass equal with no guess work. Usually don't even need lube. How tight is the interference fit when you seat a bullet?

How far are you moving the shoulder back when you FL size them? Chamber is on minimal side (or maybe my sizing die is not?). Found it necessary to bump the shell holder pretty hard. Making slight contact left cases with resistance to bolting. So can't give a measurement in thou, don't imagine it's much. Only non-belted chamber I've ever owned like that.

If you're sizing them close like that then you're not overdoing it.
Using the typical FL sizing instructions included in die sets with factory rifle chambers usually results in the shoulders are being moved several thousandths more than necessary or desirable.

With a standard full length die you would certainly have way too much neck tension. The easiest way is use a Lee collet neck die for consistent neck tension and with new brass you are basically just getting it round

I do not size new rifle brass per Mule Deer's recommendation. The only new brass I size before loading is big bore pistol brass.

I full length resize all new brass and trim to start out with a consistent product. Never had an issue doing this. This is the way I was taught.

I've always full sized my new brass before loading. Never had an issue no matter what brass I was using.

I just set the neck tension with bushing die no full sizing.

Depends on the brass, Norma, Lapua, no. Remington, Federal, Winchester, Hornaday, I will check and at least pass through the expander and trim to a consistent length. Any once fired range etc, full prep on all brass.

I recently loaded 100 new Win 7-08 cases for a new barrel. Primed them and powdered and then seated bullets in four to check magazine function and chambering. No Deal. Those four absolutely would not chamber.
I had to dump out the powder and resize the batch of 100 with a firm cam over on the Rockchucker with a brand new set of RCBS dies.
Then I started on 200 Lapua cases for a Kreiger barrel on a Ruger 77 in 260. The chambered well right out of the box.

I usually don't. However, I don't usually buy Hornady brass. It is the only brand with which I have had trouble, and it has happened often enough that I routinely full length resize their new brass right out of the box.

I have used a bunch of new Hornady 308 and 6.5 Creedmoor brass, never an issue, but the 270 WSM’s were a problem. I have a couple more new bags. I need to see if they chamber ok.

Have had chambering issues when I forgot. Doesn't that mean it's a bit thicker at the neck? That said, I like Hornady brass.

If it fits, I shoots. Bulk brass may need to get necks smoothed out so bullets seat.
Only time I size new brass is when I use the next size up - e.g. 7-08 brass in a .260., 7mm RM in a .264 WM

Generally I do not. I usually pass an expander of some sort through the necks to round them out and make them uniform.
That said, I am a measurer. When I open a new bag/box of brass I go over it pretty well. Doing so I found a bag of brass that would have been too snug in a particular one of my 308's. To show up at the range with those and that rifle only would have been a bummer since my range is about an hour's trip in each direction. This/ Yes. This.

I always FL size new brass. Time saved is not worth the risk in my opinion.

Depends on the brass. If it's American made potluck I figure I'll be needing to run it through a die first. It's gotten to the point that with premo Euro brass (Lapua, RWS, etc.) I don't bother and just go straight to loading it.

I just re-shape the necks with the expander ball. Haven’t had a problem in 45 years.
