Another in the Virgil Flowers series has Flowers sent to Butternut Falls as there have been some people killed there by bombs. It seems that retail giant PyeMart wants to build a new SuperStore in Butternut. And someone doesn't want them to. And there are several factions working against it, but the City Council has finally passed all of the licensing necessary and construction is starting and the bombs have gone off.
Now Flowers has to try to find the culprit. The factions are verbal and angry. The Council -- have they been bought off? Are the trout fishermen up to blowing people up over an impact on their stream?
And how did a bomb wind up in the PyeMart headquarters Board Room in another state? It's all very confusing and mysterious.
