I bought some of the brand Icebreaker that were too tight. On the Darn Toughs, they come sizes, heights, and various cushion. Be very specific in trying then replicating what will work for you. Costco, laughing, they're a few wrungs below where serious sock talk starts...

Maybe, but us po' folks can't afford $20 socks for daily wear. One or two pairs maybe for serious field use...

I got, uh, herd they had some good thick 80% wool socks at WW.

Yeah, I reckon Darn Tough should have some good ones for $20 a pr.

I wear them all winter, even inside my Crocs.

I disagree...I've got 10 pairs or so of Darn Tough socks. Same in the Costco Merino socks. Use the Costco for work, darn tough everything else. No complaints...

Costco socks reviews aren't sounding good , sounds like the quality has changed .

Quality has changed (oct 19')
Ive been happily buying theese socks for a number of years. But this year i am sorely dissapointed. The quality has markedly diminished and the price has gone up. There is much less wool. They are a lot thinner than previous years. The sock is also looser and longer. I need a sock that is thick and shortish. I do not need a sock that is long and thin. This is not meant to be a ski sock... It is meant to be a trail sock.

I was surprised to see they are now almost 18 dollars. If my memory serves me they used to be around 12 dollars..

Quite dissapointed

✘ No, I do not recommend this product.

I’d be hard-pressed to spend $20+ For one pair of socks. I’d also have to have them in my mitts for inspection first.

Are the darntough socks 5-6 times better than the Costco merino?

Dahlgrens for "wool" wicking. You can walk your boots dry if needed. Made from alpaca/merino and synthetic in zones.

Have tried Danner, Wigwam, Carhartt, Cabela's, etc etc and they are all crap. Nothing I've tried is anywhere close to Darntough. The Darntough also last year's longer than any other I've tried.

In summer I work all day/every day in Muck boots. The Darntough hiking sock can't be beat. Keeps my feet cool, dry, comfortable despite the heat. Also does not generate any stink-foot.
I wear them exclusively when hunting and am always comfortable.

While $20/pair seems extravagant on the surface, spread that out over a few years of having comfortable feet... Pennies a serving.

The key to not wearing your socks out, or any of your clothes, for that matter, is just to move less. That or go nekkid. Not recommended for the frozen tundra of Montana or the Norf Poll or the like.

New socks before winter is great.

Still a big fan of Smart Wool.

Recently ordered a few pairs of this version and plan on wearing them everyday from now until about May. They go all the way up to the bottom of the knee which is nice when it's cold outside.

Super comfort inside a Muck or pac style boot.

Negative, but we've got a Sam's club. I hear only those 'high falutin' folks have a Costco....

I've had good luck with Sam's wool socks. Just checked the label, 56% wool.

Costco merino rock.

I don’t get but a couple years out of them, but I’m on my feet and moving all day. For the price, can’t be beat.
