Question gentlemen; which of these "shows" do you prefer and why? I've been to the SCI twice, think I may need to go one more time to a national show and was wondering about DSC.
Thanks in advance for your responses.

DSC and, in my mind, it's not even close. I am speaking as someone who has attended both shows (and many others) as a customer and a vendor. In every way, DSC is a better organization and it shows in the way they go about their business of running a safari show. They treat everybody--customers and vendors--far more cordially and respectfully than any other show organizers. Now that I have retired from the safari business, it's the only show that I'll be attending in the future.

I agree with RipSnort. DSC is a better show and its not even close. I have worked both shows for Blaser for the past 5 years or so and there is no doubt the best show in all respects is DSC.

Never been to SCI. Had the DSC flu TWICE. (Since I've already been sick, maybe Dallas will be the place to be in 2019.)

Although not a huge reason, DSC in Dallas is much easier to fly to than SCI in Reno.

RS THIS and without a doubt.

I spoke with a number of outfits at DSC last year who had made a habit of exhibiting at both SCI and DSC for years.
They do not plan to attend SCI any longer...only DSC. Reasons given were volume of traffic/sales, and treatment from the organizers.
Specifically, I heard that the exhibitors at SCI were being bled like a cash cow, whereas at DSC they are made to feel like a valued partner.
It appears to me that without some major turnaround, the SCI conference is going to die.
Unless the timing or travel prohibits, DSC all the way.

Have only been to DSC, three times. It was outstanding. Went with a friend. He then went to SCI. He said never again on SCI.

My youngest son (21 now) and I have attended the DSC show for the past four years. Excellent in all regards and a trip that we see continuing when he graduates from TAMU as an ME this year. A taste of a good life inspired him without question and the show did this...

DSC is a hunting show. SCI is "Hollywood goes Hunting".
I am continually astounded at how quickly people make up their minds on little evidence or none at all. Jack O'Connor
