Do any Texas hunters at your leases think the deer are in the lock down phase? Where we are it seems they are either in this phase or the pigs have chased them off.

Saw very little deer movement in the day time when the moon was full, better now by a lot. Same where I hunt. The full moon last week really had them moving at night and the middle of the day. They have not started rutting yet where we hunt just southwest of Rocksprings. Not sure what part of the state you are in. The rut varies quite a bit by region.

We've had some cool weather, and now it is warming up. I suspect it will take a few days for the herd to want to be active again.

I hunt in Shackelford county. Opening weekend lots of deer movement and I ended up being hauled to the hospital in a ambulance and had to spend 5 days there after getting two stents, one in the widowmaker artery. My son saw very good movement the day he hunted. This past weekend we got skunked.

I'm glad to hear the stints took care of it. Be careful with your rehab and good luck hunting!
