The JC Higgins in 30-06 is about as unremarkable a rife as there is, and would be another good one to move.
Especially with that crappy FN Mauser action. Exactly! Those things are old, and, even worse, not made in Amurica. Should'a been culled years ago. :-) ( for those about to freak out and go on a long winded rant about the well-known quality and beauty of the FN Mauser action, note the smiley face indicating humor/sarcasm) Still, unless one is planning on a build using that FN Mauser action, the Higgins 50 is not worth keeping because the barrel and stock aren't in the same league as the action. And, I have a Higgins 50 in 30-06 and 270Win. Both are poor shooters and their plain, cost-cutting aesthetics don't compensate for the unimpressive groups. From the list presented, if one has to get rid of a few rifles, the Higgins is a good one to move. JMHO

I would keep the 223, 243, 30-06, and 416. Do as Drover suggested and get a 22 lr for the kids to learn.

I’d sell every last one of them, get myself an all-arounder, a 243, a 223, a 22LR and be done with it.

Send the 338 and 416 down the road unless you're going to Africa.

Hard to rationalize I know lol

Keep the Hornet, 223, and 243. Sell the rest, but.... Keep the Higgins 30-06 but make it a do-it-all hunting gun via a Mickey stock, a Wisner two-position safety on the shroud, recrown the barrel, get the whole gun salt-bath nitrided (QPQ), and install really good glass.

Keep the 25-06 especially if it shoots 100 and 120 bullets accurately. You won't need the .243 also keep 416 if you dislike 338. (I would keep the 30-06 and dump both of these) Decide which of the 3 .22s you want to keep. The above is my understanding of what you expressed.
If it were for myself, I would keep 22-250 25-06 30-06 and sell the rest.
