Just wondering what you would recommend for a bass rig for fishing from shore, mostly with spinnerbaits? I have seen manufacturer refurbished abu garcia revos, are they any good? I am looking for a reel that won't give me a lot of trouble. Thanks For looking

Garcia's "Revos" come in both baitcasters & spinning reels. I've never used either but they've been making reels for a long time. I'd think either type would work well.

If confined to shore, I’d likely go with at least a 7 foot rod with a bit softer tip than normal, just so the rod loads up better and gives you a little more distance. For the price, I really like the St. Croix Bass-X rods. A 7’0” medium casting rod, 12# mono or 30# braid (with the drag set for such), and a Shimano Citica or Curado. I’ve ran Shimano fir years and the Citica and Curado are easy to maintain, smooth, and have a simple-yet-effective centrifugal brake. I would likely also go with a 7:1 gear ratio.

I have several of the Abu Garcia Revo baitcasters mostly the original "STX" models with 11 ball bearings. I have been very pleased with the reels.

I shore fish a fair amount. For bass with spinner baits I usually use my 6'6" medium Berkley lightning rod shock with my Tatula ct. HTH

Fellas, thank you all for the replies. I had not checked back on it until today,so my apologies for not responding earlier. I have been reading a lot on various reels, and think I will get myself a Daiwa Tatula ct in 7.1:1 ratio for Christmas. I'll have to look for a rod to go with it in January. Can't recall the maker ,but there are rods made specifically for spinnerbaits. I have a Pflueger President spinning reel mounted on an ugly stik, this would be a worm, or plastics, rig for me.
