Check the Sako Collector's Club https://www.sakocollectors.com/forum/ There's a list of factory records. Is there any engraving on the barrel (underside) that says imported?

Congrats on the classic gun, what chambering? Thanks ol buddy Law, it's a 30-06, I went to pay the man early this morning, met he and his wife on their driveway headed to the Dr, I passed the check to him out the window, lol, will go get the rifle in a week or so after they get back from the hospital post Thanksgiving, no rush, I know it's safe.

Congrats gunner. Those are the finest production rifles ever made IMHO. They are superb.

Many Thanks JG, Josh and BigDog, I will say that bolt runs like greased glass, very smooth, I just know it's going to be a good shooter, an old gloss Bausch & Lomb Elite 2.5-10x40 is ready to set in the rings.
Happy Thanksgiving to all as well.

OK, looking forward to seeing it. My LH Sako Deluxe 375H&H is one of my favorite rifles........ 20+ years ago I took it to Pennsylvania for Opening Day and made an astoundingly good running shot after flubbing a slam dunk at 20 yards.

You did good, ol' pal. That rifle will serve you well. Put together some 200 grain Partitions and point them at the porkers.

I have two L579 Fullstocks, 243 and 308. Threatened to have the 243 rebored to 358 Winchester. But the rebore expert mentioned the steel comes out a bit rough on those Sako guns. Something about the kind of steel that was hammer forged, it won't rebore smoothly. Enjoy that gun and Be Well, Rustyzipper.

RZ, I had my full stock L597 .243 rebored to .358 many years ago by Robert West (Ret) in Springfield OR. He didn’t mention any quirks with the metallurgy and it has been working perfectly. Most accurate and useful loads incorporates the 225 gr Nosler and Sierra bullets.
