Good morning,
I'm looking at getting the Meopta Meopro 8x42 binos, which sport optics has on sale for $360. Or the Tract Toric 10x42, which is on sale for $574. Which would you reccomend and why? With price being a factor.
Currently use Nikon ProStaff 3s 10x42, and I am not a very big fan of them.
Main use, I still hunt and blind hunt in northern Michigan.
Go Blue!

All of them do something better than the 30-06, but none of them do everything as well.

Go Blue! The Meopro is pretty good, but pales in comparison to the Toric.
It is irrelevant what you think. What matters is the TRUTH.

Those Meopta 8x42 should be just the ticket. I'm in Michigans UP and use 8x42. I went from 10x back down to 8x and I'm very happy. 8's are more than enough for the hunting we do and find a slight advantage in light gathering and a definite plus is I can use the 8x without the wiggles I had with 10x.

I hunt from a ground box in Pennsylvania. Its a lot like hunting between Baldwin and Ludington, MI, which I used to do. I have both the Meostar 8x42 HD and the Toric 8x42 HT. I solved your choice by buying both. This year I used the Toric, but I could have just as well used the MeoPro. Adjusted to my eyeglasses, the Tract has excellent eye relief and the MeoPro has almost too much eye relief. When I adjusted the diopter looking at detail out the window, I had the same response to both, "these are wonderful binoculars!"

I picked up the Meopros earlier this year, they're great binos for sure. 8X is plenty where I hunt.

This is just my opinion, but I dont see Tract being around in 5 years or so Maybe I'll be wrong. This site is the only place I have ever heard them mentioned.Meopta on the other hand has been around for some time now with proven customer service

Grymjym Do note that the Meostar and Meopro are different. The Meostar is Meopta's upper end offering...the Meopro below it. If the Toric is right with the Meostar, it's likely ahead of the Meopro.

It looks like Sportoptics either sold out of the 10x42 Meopros or took them off sale, only the 8x42 Meopros are left on sale ( with a note to call for availability) so who knows if they are available either. If they are, your choice is really between an 8x Meopro and the 10x Tract.
I’ve been considering both since yesterday and still haven’t decided, though I feel the 10x is more versatile. All the reviews of the Tract are stellar, and they seem to compare more with the Meostars than the Meopros. Lots of people love the Meopros though, and they are $200+ cheaper.
Another consideration is the demo pair of 10x42 Steiner Nighthunter XPs that Doug has for $599. Those are reported to be excellent as well, but I have no idea how they would compare with the Torics, and would imagine they will likely be better than the Meopros. Doug will likely have a good price on the Meopros as well, along with great information on your choices (and mine).

I understand the difference between Meostar and Meopro, JMCubic. When I researched both the MeoPro and the Toric, reviews of the Meopro 8x42 HD indicated that it specifically was outperforming its price point, which similar reviews did not say for the MeoPro 10x42. I don't know how close that brings the MeoPro to the Toric. I bought both and kept them both after trying them. Grymjym

I waited for few years to buy from them before buying. I hope they are around in 5 years. I guess More guys just need to buy their stuff!

8X is always best for holding in your hands.

How about the Meopta Optika binocs? They are reportedly close to the Meopros but at a much lower price point.
