Can a leupold scope without the cds system be sent back and have it added on?

Most of the time you can get a CDS added. E-mail them and tell them what you want.

Can a leupold scope without the cds system be sent back and have it added on? Yup. I've sent in several VX3 2.5-8x36's to have the CDS added. IIRC, it's $200. I believe only more recent manufacture scopes (the last 15 years) can have it added though...

It can be added, but you're money ahead to sell it off and buy a new one with CDS.

It can be added, but you're money ahead to sell it off and buy a new one with CDS. Yep. They jacked the price over the past few years. Sell and buy a CDS model. DF

In the instance of the 2.5-8x36, the CDS is not available... so "it depends."

Leupold went stupid pricey. I was quoted $200 for a simple reticle change. I'm drifting away from Leupold.

You might check with Kenton, I believe they can do it. Got one of theirs for an SWFA a while back and if IRC it was under $100. Of course with changing atmospheric conditions and elevations it is only a guideline but still close enough out to 500 yards or so. I have found for really long distance you need a ballistics program.
