After reading post on handgun shooting especially the 45ACP I realized I've spent so much time on my rifles I hadn't shot my 45ACP lately. It felt good although I don't shoot as well with as I used to due to the old eyes. There were a couple of young fellows shooting as well with M-16 style rifles in 9MM and .22LR and using silencers. I was surprised that even with a silencer the 9 was still noisy. The .22LR was the most silenced all you heard was the action cycling. One still had to use ear plugs because of the noise. Just thought this was of interesting.

They needed sub sonic rounds to quiet things down.
But good for you on shooting the 45!
Fun Huh?

Oh ya I had hearing protection. Was just surprised at how much noise the 9 was making. I've been told that in Europe at the firing ranges everyone uses a silencer and no one uses hearing protection. Just not good manners to have loud guns. Now I'm wondering if I was told the true. No way would I fire a gun with a silencer and no hearing protection.

Ya know, when hunting, I never hear the shot(s), where as at the range, WOW! I understand the nuances of the human neurological responses to stimulai in stressful situations, blah, blah, blah.. I still think it is interesting!
