I have that same generator in a box unopened at home

I hope I don't end up blocking the door with my truck

With that kind of publicity, he's going to get a new generator from Home Depot pretty soon.

I rarely use a generator so my thought process was it would be better to keep it in the box sealed rather than get it out and start it up, then have to keep it prepped for storage

I guess I need to get it out and see if it works.

Now he has a police record. That will hurt when he starts job hunting.

I bought a Ryobi 2kw gennie, used it one time but it was a bitch to start. I mean 10-15 pulls. I thought it was a break in thing and messed with it over a couple days. I drained the gas, took it back and was refunded with no hassles. This is just HD being dickheads. Like someone else said this is going to cost them.

That kind of situation is an ambulance chaser's wet dream- - - - - -I'll bet there are a dozen legal beagles lined up to take his case pro bono and sue Home Despot for "False Arrest", "Pain and Suffering", etc. That's a deep dive into a deep pocket for even a halfway competent lawyer!

I was an outside vendor working on Home Depots rolling stock in northern Idaho, eastern Washington, eastern Oregon, and Montana. Everyone of those store managers told me the same thing, never buy any Ryobi products. If you go into the back storage room of those stores you will see stacks of Ryobi products that have been returned because they quite working.

Porter Cable 10" radial arm saw NIB for 3 yrs, still has the bandings on the box.

They better work whenever I finally do get a Round Tuit smirk

I used to work for a seed company. We bought a 5 or 6k Generac as a backup to power our research greenhouses in case of a power failure. We'd never used it but I'd get it out and run it several times a year just to make sure it worked ok. Then one day it started fine but it wouldn't put out any power. The dealer found that the generator head had failed but he also found that Generac didn't sell the parts to fix it. It was out of warranty and Generac said to stick it. We ended up dumping it, unused.

Looks like I should add Ryobi to my Generac sxxt list.

My one and only Ryobi tool is a detail sander, the one with the triangular-shaped sanding pad that attaches with Velcro. I use it for getting into close quarters places on gunstocks I'm refinishing. So far so good- - - -for about 10 years. Guess I got one of the good ones!

I also have a Champion generator, but its not an inverter so I melted the circuitry on my fridge about 8 years ago using it to power my house in a storm.

I bought the Ryobi on sale about well, 7 years ago now I guess. Still shrink wrapped in the box

I quit buying Ryobi tools years ago. In fact, I divested myself of all things Ryobi but one - which I hardly ever use. Just not put together very well.

I have a bunch of Ryobi cordless tools and have had great service out of them. I haven't bought one of their generators though. I like their system where one battery works on everything and never changed from year to year like my Sears Craftsman cordless junk did. No complaints from me.
