The cartel's gunmen who murdered this Mormon family now claims this was a case of mistaken identity.The solution to their rivalry was to shoot/slaughter a family of women and children and then ask questions.OMG.


Mexican authorities announced the arrest of four suspects in connection with their alleged roles in the high-profile attack that killed nine women and children from a Mormon U.S. family last month in Sonora. One was identified as the regional leader for the “La Linea” faction of the Juarez Cartel.

Mexico’s Attorney General’s Office (FGR) made the announcement on Sunday afternoon as international pressure mounts over the massacre. A man identified only as “Mario H.” or “El Mayo” from the Juarez Cartel (not to be mistaken for Ismael “El Mayo” Zambada from the Sinaloa Cartel) was named as the individual largely responsible for the November 4 attack where a group of cartel gunmen ambushed and murdered nine women and children as they drove toward the U.S.-Mexico Border destined for Phoenix, Arizona.

The arrest of El Mayo and two other men took place in a series of raids, the statement revealed. Those arrests followed the capture of another gunman in November who reportedly gave “more information about the individuals involved.” Mexican authorities have not released any information about the identity of the other suspects or the details on their arrests.

Mexican authorities say the attack on the LeBaron family was a case of mistaken identity since cartel gunmen mistook the family’s SUVs for a rival convoy. The severity of the case indicates an apparent lack of control over Mexico’s highways. Prior to the LeBaron incident, La Linea carried out attacks on towns controlled by factions of the Sinaloa Cartel in the same border state. La Linea had deployed gunmen throughout their turf, expecting a similar incursion from rivals.

I think saying a cartel did is it very convenient instead of it being a water rights dispute that got out of control.

yea, I read that left wing President of Mexico has failed miserably in upholding his claim of reducing violent crime, as well as trying to stand up to Trump who has said America will "help" Mexico by declaring Cartels are a terrorist organization.

I'm not sure saying a cartel did it will lessen Trump's stance, it might push him harder, but the Cartels in the region knew who these people (LeBarons) were and after the attack, they were pissed in their words "you don't kill a blond headed gringo". They (the Cartels) were going to find who did this and torture them to death.

A lot is being made of these victims being U.S. citizens et al. I thought they lived in the polygamist compound in Mexico. Horrible what happened, and I would like to imagine justice will be served.

My only point is to me at least, Mexican on Mexican crime in Mexico is a different critter from Mexicans on American tourist in Mexico crime. Again, let me reiterate, I'm not minimizing the tragedy.

i know from my own vantage point being along the border and in the mountains there many many times, no way would l let my wife travel unescorted south of I10.
my dad told me something about mexicans back in the 50's, a group of them they get very brave and can be very sadistic.
one on one, not so much.
I have been 40-50miles outside of phx, and jumped 20/30mexicans switching cars with illegals.
and i have watch mules coming up the altar valley loaded down.
I think that comment is right, you don't shoot the gringo's, somebody is pissed messing up their networks that way
