Hello everyone I’m in the process of upgrading and reorganizing some of my gear. Just wondering what everyone’s basic kit outs may be? Maybe day, three day, 5 day kits. Typical fall/winter seasons. Thank you in advance.

I'm not familiar with the term. Please 'splain what you mean by "kit out". Are you referring to the gear that we take when backpacking, the pack that we use, the clothes that we wear? Or, are you referring to a bugout bag and its' contents? Or, maybe something else?
Wind in my hair, Sun on my face, I gazed at the wide open spaces, And I was at home.

Good points...having a wide range of gear, I can load out or "kit out"...a patrol. Alpine, sub alpine, tropical, savannah, bayou or desert. Where we goin' and doin'?
Don't ask me about my military service or heroic acts...most of it is untrue.
Pronoun: Yes, SIR !

Yes sir, typical gear lists for fall/winter hunts. Day pack, three day and five day outings. Just wondering what others are using as I’m looking to upgrade some of my older gear.

Everything on this list DOES NOT necessarily go, but it's what I select from. For example I change my water purification from year to year or the spotter/tripod may or may not go. Rarely do rain gear bottoms make the cut. It's been revised over the years, but in the last year or two has remained pretty solid. It is for 5-6 days Co 1st and then 4th rifle and covers temps to single digits. It comes to ~50lbs, and that includes the rifle and ammo, just not water.
Edit: I crossed out those items that did not go this year and added some brand names for reference.
Pack Kifaru Nomad 2 Pack rain cover Rifle Ammo (10) Sleeping Bag (REI Magma) Seek Outside BCS Tent Ti Stove Sleeping Pad Pillow (Sea to Summit) Tyvek sheet (Lowes) Compass (incl in pack wt) Map Walking Sticks (Black Diamond)

Nice. Thank you. That’s exactly what I’m looking for. I haven’t upgraded my gear in a few years, we’ll probably more than just a few. There’s a lot on that list that I’m not familiar with and I’ll be lookin into.
Many thanks!

OK so here's another list of gear for a Colorado elk hunt.
MY GEAR FOR COLORADO BACKPACK ELK HUNT I own multiples of just about every kind of gear. This gear is what I actually use when backpack hunting for elk in Colorado, not necessarily the best, just what I use.
Rifle: Thompson Center Icon “Weathershield” (synthetic/Ceracote) 30-06 with Leupold VX-3 3.5x10x40 scope, Leupold Rings and 180 grain Nosler Partitions hand loaded to perform like a .300 magnum (61 grains RL22, 2,840 fps).
Field Dressing Gear: 6" Buck Knife, Gerber Gator Saw, ceramic/diamond sharpener, Havalon scalpel, and T.A.G. game bags. Binoculars: Leupold BX-3 “Mojave” 12x50 roof prism GPS: GAIA GPS mapping program loaded onto a Samsung tablet Compass: Silva Maps: USGS, BLM & USFS maps (usually just one map) Lazer Rangefinder: Leupold RX 1200i
Backpack:Kuiu Ultra 5500 Tent (warm weather): Big Agnes Copper Spur Ul-2 Tent (cold weather): Kuiu Storm Star 2P Tarp: GoLite 8’x10’ Siltarp Sleeping Bag cold weather: Western Mountaineering “Antelope” 5° goose down Sleeping Bag warm weather: Western Mountaineering “Alpenlite” 20° goose down Sleeping Pad: Thermarest NeoAir + ½ foam pad
Stove (cold weather): MSR “Dragonfly” or MSR “Whisperlite”, white gas Stove (warm weather): MSR “Pocket Rocket” or Optimus “Crux”, Isobutane Pots: Titanium Tea Pot & Titanium Mug (1 quart Nalgene bottle fits inside) Canteen: Nalgene 1 liter Water Bag: Platapus, 2 liter, roll-up Water Filter: Katadyn "Hiker Pro" or Sawyer “Squeeze” adapted to gravity filter Pocket Knife: Victorinox Swiss Army Knife; "Climber", “Tinker” or “Traveler”
Flashlight: Coleman LED 90 lumens Headlamp: Petzl LED Camera: Olympus Stylus 720 SW
LEAVE IN TRUCK Pack Frame: North Face “Back Shadow” Cooler: 100 quart, Igloo
PERSONAL GEAR In addition to the gear listed above, each person carries: a fire starter kit a small personal first aid kit a personal hygiene kit a small personal chow kit
WHAT TO WEAR NO COTTON CLOTHING - The only thing that I carry that has any cotton in it, is a bandanna, which has multiple uses. If cotton clothing gets wet, it doesn’t dry and it promotes hypothermia.
HUNTERS ORANGE: In Colorado you have to wear at least an orange hat and vest. I wear orange everything above the waist. In Wyoming everyone wears an orange hat. You can wear all camo in Arizona, Alaska, and Texas.
DRESS IN LAYERS - I dress in layers so that I can adapt to a changing environment and to my level of exercise. I wear the kind of clothing that will perform well in a variety of environments and I carry enough extra in my daypack so that I can adapt to changes.
Base Layer: polypropylene long johns and briefs, Patagonia lightweight Socks: wool/nylon blend socks like Smart Wool or Merino wool with cushion soles Boots: Kennetreck “Hardscrabble” Trousers: Sitka Gear (Gortex lined) 6-pocket trousers (wool/synthetic blend) Shirt: Nylon/synthetic blend camouflage Vest: Eddie Bauer ultra-light goose down Puffer Jacket: Old Navy (goose down) Sweater: polyester fleece “hoodie” Rain/Wind Gear: Arcterix Nylon/Gortex parka Gloves: two pair; lightweight & ski gloves Caps: knitted wool/nylon watch cap with a small bill and a ball cap Gaiters: OR “Crockodiles” Gortex/nylon (Red for Colorado, Gray elsewhere) Sunglasses
For a southern Arizona Coues deer hunt I wear kings Camo "Desert Shadow". For an Alaska caribou hunt I wear all Sitka Gear outer clothing.
The only thing that's missing is freeze-dried and dehydrated food. Duration of the trip determines how much food. I plan to stay out five days and four nights. I return to the truck, spend a night in base camp, resupply and go out for another sortie.
My total kit including rifle and 20 rounds of ammo, weighs about forty pounds for an early season hunt, about 44 pounds for a late season hunt.
Wind in my hair, Sun on my face, I gazed at the wide open spaces, And I was at home.
