I recently purchased a SWFA 6x42 for a relatively lightweight M700. Had a Leupy in Talley lightweights before, but I just don't trust the scope anymore(it's already been back once to Leupold). I like the Talley lightweights, and I know they make them for 30mm, but will they be fine for the heavier scope, or should I go with a rail or something else? Thanks!

In my experience the 30mm Talley LWs fine with heavier scopes.

Ditto, have two SWFA 10x42's mounted on Tikka T3x Lites with Talley rings and no problem at all. Tried a rail but it puts the scope up too high for a normal sporter rifle stock.
Gunnery, gunnery, gunnery. Hit the target, all else is twaddle!

I have a Colt Light in 7mag, Buckmaster 4.5-14, Talleys. Kicks like hell. No issues.
I think, therefore I am, conservative.
