I wont use them or deal with a site that requires that I do so. They've had a bad rep for 20 years. Lots and lot of law suits.

They charge you coming and going. Selling or buying. Upside is... INSTANT payment.

My wife does glass art and has sold quit a few pieces on Facebook Marketplace using PP. Once we got it set up, it's been flawless. Their fee is worth the cost to avoid dealing with rubber checks and waiting for the mail. She just adds the fees to the item price so the customer IS paying for it. You don't make a profit by giving away stuff. There is no free anything in the business world. The cost is always included in the price.

Ignorance is bliss.

Its not cheating. It's offered fee free because it's internal and costs PayPal nothing and they have to do nothing nor guarantee nothing.. . Just electrons moving... I can send money to a friend for any dambed reason I want. Only I take the risk if the friend doesn't respond as agreed. There's no ignorance, you are simply wrong. There's no cheat.

Most banks let you set up additional checking accounts. You can do it online in a few minutes. Set up one just for PP. Then you can transfer the money in and out from your regular account.

PayPal did not ask for his banking passwords.

I've done thousands of Paypal transaction over many years without trouble. Usage has declined dramatically since they came out anti-gun.

My publisher pays my book royalties only with Paypal, so I have to have an account there. I have had one fraudulent exchange with PP, all entirely my fault because I responded to one of those scam emails saying my PP account lost my password and would I please remind them. Stupid on my part. Anyway, PP voided the subsequent transactions on my account and refunded every cent. (Yes, I changed passwords after that.)

Everything else has been flawless. When I buy anything using PP, I use PPCredit and pay it off immediately because PPCredit gives me even more buyer protection that regular PP.

If you use PP a lot as a business, it is vital to link PP to a completely separate bank account with a very small balance, and make sure that account has a "No Overdraw" option selected. That way, you are mostly insulated from fraud.

For occasional private deals, PP is just fine, at least as secure as any other payment method, and instant both ways.

Exactly! Wish people that sell here would figure out how to do the same thing instead of looking to me like fools with their " no fees to me " crap. The others are the people that say "PayPal fees included" or plus PP fees. I actually avoid people that do that no matter what they are selling or how much I may want the item.

PayPal charges to help you pay for goods. They are in business and incur expenses to provide this service. If you can rationalize cheating them out of their small transaction fee, you should reexamine your personal ethics.
