Custom 45cal Smokeless Muzzleloader

This has been a staple for me for a few years and now I find myself w/ a number of ML options and a wife who could use a new car.

Built by Luke at Arrowhead Custom Rifles (these builds of his are all $3k and up now…)

Barrel: SS Brux 1:20” @ 26” (45cal)
Action: SS Remington 700ML, trued, custom lug, and custom milled primer carrier boltface.
Stock: Bedded Boyds Thumbhole
Trigger: Rem factory - tuned 3.5-4#
Plug: ASG209 w/ tungston bushing.
LOP: 13.5". w/ 1" Decelerator

It’s a shooter. If you want simple sub MOA, just load up saboted 200gr SSTs or 250gr SSTs w/ no fuss.

If you want “one-holers” and cloverleafs, use any 250-300gr premium bullets from Pittman, Parker, or ASG over H4198. (It will also shoot Blackhorn209 if that is your state regs) - these bullets will take you out to 500+ yards @ 2600-2900 fps. (Pictured group is Pittman 250gr AccuMax)

Rifle can come w/ 30mm low Talley LW (+$25) and even the LRHS (pre-sighted in!!) for additional $$.

I have the exact same barreled action from Luke. I am using a different stock, but these SML's shoot lights out! I have played around with different bullet, sabot, powder combinations, and Lukes work and the Brux likes and shoots everything I have loaded in mine!

PS: For those interested in jumping into the smokeless game - it is great! I have had great luck with Luke’s rifles (like above) and also with Jeff Hankins’ work. The rifle seen below got the nod for this year’s IL buck - and also puts multiple shots in the same hole.
