We are going to send it back , but I am curious if I overlooked a simple fix . Last year if misfired and I thought it was ammunition, because there were no misfires while zeroing . This year it got worse. , my step son managed two decent bucks simply by rut , one of them stood there on a misfire while he cycled the bolt and fired the second round which fired and killed a nice nine pointer .
The gun went bang on the first shot on the six , which had a really big body .
Then the third was a spike which the gun misfired twice before going bang on the third .
So I looked on the net and there was a reference to hue bolt having tk much grease .
Luckily, I had a disassembly tool from an Icon I had owned and disassembly was easy . To my surprise , the bolt was dry as a bone . So , J thought that might be the problem and applied a light coating of pro shot bolt lube on the firing pin surfaces that would contact the inside of the bolt body and a light coating of zero friction for good measure . Reassemble and test fired three rds . Only one fired and on the non firing rds the strike was light . Before disassembly I looked at the firing pin after decocking , it protruded what seemed to be a lot farther than the strikes were showing .
So did I overlook something ?
