danw,

Welcome! you have a Savage Model 1899 made in between the years of 1903 - 1917.

What's it's worth depends on condition.

If you could post a picture that would help... if not go over to "http://www.savage99.com/" or "http://savagela.org/" and see if you can't find a picture or description of your gun.

Then get back to us and we'll better be able to help you smile

You can try to find a description of your gun here:

Yup, that's an 1899C. The perch belly didn't start until later, if you give us the first part of your serial number (x out the last couple digits) we'll date it for you.

An 1899C in 25-35 is a very desirable rifle.. I'm sure you're already getting offers to sell. grin Real price is going to be based off of condition, but the real way to find out what it's worth is to auction it off and see what folks are willing to pay. Course, if you sell you'll probably not find another one like it, so I'd keep it if I was you. The prices are only going up..

Welcome to the forum! Pics are still appreciated if you can manage it..

Dan,

Here is an idea of what Cabela's wants for a 25-35 and you can check to see how yours matches up for condition.

A HUNDRED DOLLARS!!!

Then congratulations!!! You just won the "Classic Savage Lottery". Any 25-35 "C" at that price is an steal.

Oh, by the way the peep sight is worth at least a $100.- wink

Research what you got and enjoy it thoroughly! smile smile smile

Oh...and the barrel has been replaced on the one at Cabella's...thats why it's only 1700 asking.

There's a sticky note in the photography forum about how to use Photobucket to host pictures for posting here. Or PM Violator22. He's usually nice enough to help post a pic. If he's not available I can help tonight.
