Mine are long enough to reach the dead battery. Don't have to worry about what side to access. In a pinch, I've used them when someone is in a parking spot with only access from the rear of the vehicle.

I use Anderson connectors so I can quick connect to the truck or use as an extension for a winch.

Welding cable are better because they have more strands of copper in them.
The cheaper ones have larger and fewer strands.
Bonus is one can make them as long as one wants.

Meanwhile a neighbourhood next town over lost their phone and internet the other night. Phone co. discovered some banditos cut the main cables and other service wire going underneath an overpass on the main highway. WTF?! Ballzy bastards, I guess when they need a hit they need a hit. Probably made some good coin at the scrappy...

Thanks Sam. The most uber home made set I saw was in the AF. The were made from aircraft power cart DC cables (1200 amp each rated). That's what the motor pool wreckers carried. Broke my heart when they told me to get rid of a bad cable. It permanently disappeared. Forty years old and still going strong...

Good evening Cowboy, The best set I had, I made from welding cable. My good ones are made from welding lead. I’ve made a set outta 2/0. Napa 600 amp clamps. Will put the fire into something. Funny to watch someone mess around with those jumper cables thhe size of jump ropes. Then hook up some welda cable. It make a dead motor spin.

I use Anderson connectors so I can quick connect to the truck or use as an extension for a winch. I use the ones from an electric forklift. Don’t know what they are called. Some of the batteries in farm equipment are buried ..........and quick to disconnect

This........in case you don't have another battery/vehicle 2000 amp........8.0L gas or 6.5L diesel Will it actually start a diesel pickup? Most of them say 6.0 or 6.5 when late diesels start at 6.7L and go up from there. Doubt it at 15 below.

That set is better than my best. Got my best set at a gas station in Las Vegas. Some crack head needed gas money and sold me the cables out of his car for $10. He had some nice ass cables for whatever reason. Was he a Messican? Cuz that's how you can tell the best man at a Mexican wedding, the guy with the yumper cables.

The heavier cable makes a huge difference.
These are called 0 gauge but they must be closer to 1 or 2. Hell if I know.
Maybe all these jumper cable peddlin' mofo's are bullchittin on how heavy their chit is.

So, it has come to that time in the best of threads.
So this guy goes into this fancy dinning place. The man at the door says, can't let you in without a tie. Our man goes out to his pickup, all he can find is jumper cables. He throws them over his neck and walks back in.
Is this all right? I guess so, but don't start anything.
