This really sucks. I considered Charlie a friend. We’ve exchanged a number of PMs and had a few phone calls. He is and will continue to be missed.
RIP.

Charlie and I lived in N.W. Nevada during the same time period, and shared many of the same hunting grounds, although our paths never crossed , surprisingly, we talked via P.M. about places we hunted and people we knew.

I am sad that I didn't have a chance to meet up with him. He was on my "list"

Thanks Lonny and Judman for taking care of our " friend"

irfubar,

thanks for that reminder of that area. Short drive from here. Now i have to go back through some PM's from him to see where he recommended I visit someday. I'll check some out next year and tell the creeks, hills, stones, desert, and mountains Charlie says hello.

Very sad news.

I always enjoyed Charlie's posts and the handful of interactions we had on the fire were positive. Charlie was one of my favorites on here.

Thanks to all the members here who checked in on him and for keeping us in the loop.

I hope he is someplace he can hear a cur dog tree a bobcat

I believe this was his second or third favorite shotgun.

And a beer I know he enjoyed.

Charlie would love that picture Sam.

He told me just the other day about when he sold you that shotgun there was some issues with the transfer and he laughed when you said to him something along the lines of, "If I were you, I'd tell me to get fawked!" smile

Lonny, it was some bullchit over the FFL here wouldn't accept from a private seller, or some other minor detail,

Had to send the shotgun all the way back across MT and into ID.

I felt terrible and sent a check to cover the extra shipping and hassle and Charlie sent back a tote full of 16 gauge ammo.....
