I recently bought a suppressor and am looking at getting a new rifle for it. I have narrowed it down to 6.5 creedmoor, .308 and 7mm Rem Mag (the rifles I am looking at have bull barrels).
Has anyone here shot a 7mm Rem Mag with a can on it? How did it feel (recoil reduction)? How was the sound difference compared to one without a can?
I've done a lot of research on it but wanted to ask for some of your thoughts....
I bought the Texas Silencer Company Outrider can. Thanks in advance

Yes.... a bunch. Tames recoil pulse down very well, comparable to 243ish with 9lb rifles. Noise levels are easily tolerable without muffs/plugs, but I still will throw on heating protection anytime I’m shooting anything for a prolonged session.

Yes, and as Josh stated, the recoil reduction is astounding. My rifle weighs in at a hefty 12#10oz as pictured and I’d compare the recoil to a sporter weight .223. I don’t wear hearing protection while hunting but will put plugs in while at the range.

Thank you. If you don't mind me asking, what were the make and models? I prefer Win 70's, but they don't make a 7mm Rem Mag with the heavy barrel that I am looking for to hold the suppressor. I'd prefer a barrel OD of .75 or more.

Very nice. What kind of stock do you have there? I've been looking, and finding a long action Win 70 stock that handles a larger barrel is kind of tricky. Bell and Carlson doesn't have any wide enough. HS Precision mostly has two part floor plates and mine is one part.

Shoot a 300 WM, same powder charge, with a 7" thunder beast. It doth tame it real good, down to maybe very mild 308 levels. Goes from bazoooommm to... pow and a strong push. Night and day difference.

My stock is a McM HTG. It has a one piece floorplate. You’re right the aftermarket is pretty lean for long action Winchester stocks other than factory wood or plastics. You can of course have one made to your specs. You can get an adapter to allow you to use one piece bottom metal in a stock inletted for a two piece. Adapter at Midwest
