Went to the one in Billings over the summer. I was extremely impressed with the store and the staff.

I bought Tikka’s (Scheels did special imports like others) from Scheels before they even came into KS ....
Good store - they shipped them to my FFL..

Started here in Fargo ND. I used to fix the furnaces for the founder when it was a hardware store. I also went to school with a grandson of them. They were/are all very nice people.

Scheels in Rapid is a great store. I shopped there and at the Cabela's not far away until Bass Pro ruined the Cabela's. Now it is just Scheels for me.

At the mall in West Des Moines. I prefer the Sportsman's Warehouse in Ankeny. About 5 to 10% better prices at Sportsman's.
kwg West Des Moines Scheels is the worst Scheels that I have been in.

Saddlesore: I am lucky, in that Montana (no sales tax!) has two Scheels stores that I frequent. One is in Great Falls (215 miles from me!) and the other is in Billings (260 miles!). I always "budget" for stopping at Scheels whenever I go Hunting or gun chasin in their areas. Great selection, nice people I wish prices were a bit better sometimes, but I have bought a LOT of gear from them. Maybe I should get on there mail catalog list? Glad you enjoyed yourself there at Scheels. Hold into the wind VarmintGuy

Haven't been to Scheels in a long time. The one in Sioux Falls had a hellofa markup, imagine they still do.

Our whole family loves Scheels!
Biden's most truthful quote ever came during his first press conference, 03/25/21. Drum roll please...... "I don't know, to be clear." and THAT is one promise he's kept!!!

The only downside to them I have found recently is the used gun section. Used to be able to go to them and they had racks full of neat used stuff to browse through. Last few I have been inside had maybe 30-40 used guns. The new stuff is great but the old classics are neat to dig through

There has been one in Sioux Falls as long as I can remember, always my favorite place to stop. Has always been far better than Cabelas/Bass Pro. Willing to deal on used guns also, especially if you know the manager. For us online nut jobs, there is almost always a better deal somewhere...but Scheels handles almost everything and has great staff. I never buy optics there thanks to Doug, but both of my boys just bought Kennetreks at a price you couldn't find anywhere else.

Been to the one in SLC a few time. Nice store, lots of stuff, like that they deal with used guns, like the TREK bike shop, aquarium is amazing. Didn't buy much as prices were about full retail. If you are selective and only buy stuff that is on sale it would be good. I'll go in when I'm down there but sure not making a 3 hr trip just for that.

I love Scheels. The are active in and support the community as well.
Shipping? My gosh, it is like they shipped it 2 days before i ordered it! Seriously, it is always here the next day.

For those of you in Northern Colorado 0r any close distance, check out Scheels in Johnstown about 40 miles north of Denver. An all sports store that carries everything. Two stories and each is bigger than Cabelas or Bass Pro. .Nicer, knowledgeable people and the prices a bit lower. It was a 2.5 hour drive for us , but I am impressed. Be aware that this Scheels store is in an area that charges a 4.5% Public Improvement Fee on top of the 4.7% Sales tax. This was my first time shopping there. Good news was they had Reloder 26 in stock, but with the extra fee, I won't be back.
