What weight of pull does everyone prefer for their triggers on a hunting rifle? I’m curious if there is a popular preference or if everyone has different ideas on this subject.

A nice “crisp”, near zero travel break of around 3 pounds. While in ideal conditions lighter would potentially be best.....at zero or below temperatures, light can be an issue! memtb

Obey lawful commands. Video interactions. Hold bad cops accountable. Problem solved.

On a hunting rifle anything less than 3lb is too light for me. And I have target pistols and rifles that are around 1lb. I don't want to be surprised when a hunting rifle fires, it should be a conscious decision.
I am continually astounded at how quickly people make up their minds on little evidence or none at all. Jack O'Connor

My favorite hunting rifle has a DST. So the set pull is in ounces. But I mainly hunt from a stand or high seat in a Jeep. Hasbeen

Some of my favorite triggers break anywhere from 2.5 to almost 4 pounds on a Lyman digital gauge. Sometimes it's just the feeling of a clean crisp break that you can predict and without much creep and not be a hair trigger or too heavy. Besides factory triggers I have experience with a Timney Sportsman, a Dayton Traister, a couple Riflebasix, and a factory target trigger on a circa 1997 Ruger Mod. 77 Mk II Target Rifle.

I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

Pretty much whatever they come from the factory with. I have no idea where mine break. I have 10/22 magnum that is probably north of 10#. It's frustrating, but I can coax some tiny groups out of it with its favorite ammo. The factory Ruger Hawkeye (LC6) trigger is ideal to me. No creep, no take up, just a nice crisp 4#ish.
