I picked up this new Bell and Carlson stock, doesn't have the aluminum bedding block, no cheek piece and no sling studs but has embossed sling attachment points for a 1" sling and has a L W embossed in the barrel channel.
Exactly what have I got?

Did you buy it new? All of the new versions that I'm aware of use sling studs. The very early versions, I'm thinking late 1980's, 1990's had molded in slots to thread a sling through. All of the versions without the metal bedding block are easily broken and I'd not call anything made by B&C light.
The newest Medalist versions with the metal bedding block are a decent stock, although a bit chunky and on the heavy side.

It's an older Carbolite. Is it black or does it have the fern camo pattern?
If you dont want it, I'd be interested.

The Carbolite is why they started using the aluminum bedding block. It is an injection molded stock not a hand lay up. I have one for a LH Ruger bought when there were not many other options. Not very stiff and scratches more easily than a hand lay up but has served fine as a truck and beater rifle. Shoots OK after bedding but can't handle a shooting sling. I added carbon fiber and aluminum to the barrel channel and this still didn't cure the stiffness issue entirely. If I had it to do over again I wouldn't and would spend the extra on a Brown or other laid up stock. But as a using stock they are ok.
