Which scope - MeoPro 3.5-10x44 or Leupold VX3i 3.5-10x40 - would you choose for a 300 H&H?
Thank you!

I like the Leupold 3.5-10. Would work well on a long list of rifles. No experience here with the other scope you mention.
I had an old Vari-X III 2.5-8 on my 300 H&H and liked it but am going to upgrade to a newer series 2.5-8. In the meantime, there's a VX2 3-9 on it. It works fine too.

Thank you! I have the Leupold 3.5x10 VX3 with a B&C reticle on my 300. Love it.

For what it is worth, I have a VX3i on a 1955 model 70 .300 H&H. Couldn't be more pleased with how it has held up. Keeps shooting 200 grain Partitions to the same place every time.

I have a 1940 300 H&H I can't figure out how to mount a scope on it, without drilling holes in it.

I know that the VX3 will fit on a M-70 Winchester and there is plenty of room to adjust eye relief without using some offset ring arrangement. I would be concerned with the dimensions of the other scope and how it may fit on your receiver.

I have a Leupold 6x42 on my old M70 .300 H&H. Plenty of scope to at least 400 yards or so.

I like power on my .300's.. 3-9 is a favorite, but I have a bunch of them... 4-12's are also excellent... Leupold is my choice.. Don't know about the other one....

What happened to all the Leupold Haters on here? I would go with the Leupold VX-3i 3.5-10X40 as that's uppwhat I have on my .300 Weatherby Mag. It stands up to that rifle nicely and is all the scope I need on a .300 Mag anything.
I think Leupold is as clear as anything in its price range. Retail they go for between $400 and $500. I got the four I have off Ebay. One was in an auction but I bought the other 3 from stores that sell on Ebay. Damn nice scopes. Also, I know Leupold doesn't track like some more expensive scopes but it's good enough for me because I'm not a knob twister in the field. I don't have enough faith in any scope to be twisting knobs to move the POI while hunting in the field. I set my scope at the range and unless something happens to change that POI such as droping my rifle, I don't touch it once I leave the range. I don't take shots at game much over 300-400 yards and within that range Kentucky windage and hold over works fine. You just gotta know your drops and how to judge the wind.

VX 3i, 3.5-10X with a Boone and Crockett reticle. That’s what I have on my 300H&H made in the month I was born.

Thank you for all the feedback!
The MeoPro is a Meopta scope.

I've been a "lurker" on this forum for a couple of years. The amount of information that is shared by the contributors is incredible. Im the odd man out, id pick the meopta, as that is said to be the same scope as the zeiss conquest. Im running a 3.5-10×44 Zeiss conquest on my pre 64 model 70 338wm built on an H&H action. Ive had 2 VX3 3.5-10×40 rifle scopes, and while they are nice and clear and lightweight, they arent even in the same league as the meopta.
I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

Many Leupold scopes beat the similar equivalent Meoptas in light weight. Both have good glass and eye relief, but if you are very concerned about tracking and zero retention, I believe the Meopta's win there. RJ

I’m not a Leupold hater and have been happy with the VX-2, VX-R and VX-3 I own. I also have a MeoPro 3.5-10x44 and like it better than a VX-3i by a slim margin even if it is a heavier scope.
Don't roll those bloodshot eyes at me.
