All:

Just got back from a Texas deer hunting trip. I went with my oldest son because it was his turn. Although not with a Savage, all these critters were taken with the 250 Savage. Load was a 100gr Silvertip. The rifle was a Remington 700 Classic in 250 Savage. Rifle was made in 1984 only. It’s nickname is the Gipper, largely because of the 1984 electoral blowout. Anyways, had a great time. I always do down there.

Glad to see the pictures of these success stories, RAS! Good shot! very encouraging that the next generation is picking up the torch and learning to love the practice.

Eagle,

I shot the big one and my son got the other two nice ones.

Dave,

We hunted in two places in Texas. One of them was with my great friend John.

Jeff,
Very cool. Good job on raising your kids, although I'm sure your way better half had something to do with that......she is good shot too, from what I hear.

Congrats to you and your son.

Jim,

She is 5 for 5. Never missed! I can’t say that, LOL.

And the reason we brought the 700, was because I bought it and gave it to him a few years ago. He took his first buck with it and loves the rifle now. The prices of these 700 Classic rifles in 250 Savage are crazy expensive. The cheapest you can find one now is $1K and often more.
