Would I have a reasonable chance of crossing paths with him next year or is he a FNG that showed recently?

It is a nice deer. Where I hunt, I would let him go and look for a low end deer to take home. I passed a 140”+ 10 pt and 150”+ 6x6 just last week. Just my personal approach.

Is that a big deer for the area you hunt? As was said above, I think if you’re questioning it then you should probably let it pass. In the area I hunt I know there’s a potential for some big deer so it’s got to be at least 160-170 before I’ll shoot. The last few years I haven’t shot a whitetail but I got lucky this year

Obey lawful commands. Video interactions. Hold bad cops accountable. Problem solved.

I gotta admit... I did. He's 6 1/2. Post rut here, and he's pretty boney from chasing the does. Best buck I've taken in awhile. Used my .308 DB10 and Rem CoreLokt 150gr.

I think you may have misunderstood my humor when I posted this thread... I don't just trophy hunt. I'll get one or two deer a year for meat, and if I see a big buck I want, I'll take him when I can. It just worked out this year.... 2 out of the past 3 years, neighbors that own adjacent 5 acre tracts around me have taken the better bucks I was waiting for... Sometimes you just gotta say say "This one is mine."
