When the Enduron powders were introduced, Hodgdon had me do an article for their 2015 ANNUAL MANUAL on IMR4166. After looking at their data, I tried it in nine rifles chambered for the .204 Ruger, .223 Rem/5.56 NATO, .243 Win., 257 Roberts, .30-06, .303 British, 8x57 Mauser and .45-70.
Despite some of Hodgdon's data being low-pressured for the older rounds (especially the .303, 8x57 and .45-70) results were very good across the board. In fact, it acted very much like either of the 4895s--but with a decoppering agent, which worked very well.
It burned cleanly at all pressures, though there were a few unburned kernels in the .45-70 loads, which were "trapdoor" level, and in fact tested in an H&R reproduction Officer's Model carbine.
I did not notice any tendency for it to work better at maximum pressures, and also did some tests with both hot and cold temperatures, since all the Endurons are advertised as temp-resistant. It passed those as well.
