Do you keep full copies of your Form 4 and Trust with you? In the truck? Have any of you ever been questioned?

Everything is in my truck. Unless you're doing something you shouldn't be doing, I can't imagine being asked.

Good question. I’ve wondered about this too. Has anyone had a LEO actually take note of the suppressor and subsequently NOT ask for the papers?

Ha. Well I feel silly having waited so long to get one. Thats the most reoccurring story I hear from people, that and they don't want to go through the process because it takes "so long". then when they get one they wish they hadn't delayed getting one. plan on it taking a year from the get go, ignore the "trackers" that estimate your time. buy as many as you can afford and buy premium cans. all of mine have been lane titanium ones and they are amazingly high quality. when your paperwork comes scan it and make a paper copy, put the originals in a safety deposit box (that's what we did anyway). if there is ever an issue there's many ways to prove it easily.

Anybody ever been asked for an ATF form for transporting a suppressor across state lines?
(The question is: has anybody been asked for one?)

I wouldn't give them Mfr's the satisfaction of a form.

I wouldn't give them Mfr's the satisfaction of a form. That we even have to get govt permission to own suppressors and such, is sickening. They ought to sell them at Home Depot next to the lawn mower mufflers.

I have been checked twice by game wardens while hunting with a can, and was pulled over in Virginia just this fall while transporting 2 to Ohio. Never been checked paperwork wise though even though they were aware I had them. So when I say never been checked they have never checked or asked for paperwork. They didn’t seem to care. One friend was checked by a local PD at a indoor range. Said they just wanted him to present papers, and then they walked away without actually checking the names and what not.
Range officers seem to care but they can GFY.
The wait is just a inconvenience honestly. When it’s over it’s worth it. Love the naysayers who don’t even own a can though
