Starman, In a way you are right and somewhat complimentary. I resemble a lot what you have described. I am an old cripple. I have TWO tornup toenails. A bad back. Five years a paratrooper knees. Emotional and money stress. Fat. I have met and call "friend" a few on this forum who could verify that about me. But If ever put in that situation, I pray that I am brave enough to match that man who died so that others may live. He was a Man. Tracy "Ranger" Green Even though we've never met face-to-face, I consider you one of the finest men on the 'fire. Stay safe RG. [/quote] Ethan, I've gotten to meet Tracy aka Ranger Green... I can say with 1000% certainty, YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPONTED....if you ever have the good fortune to meet him.. he's twice the man of a lot of our misfit keyboard commandos are on here... and twice as humble as many of the best of our campfire members... I call him a friend, but I'm not even really worthwhile to walk in his shadow.. not a superman, but he's just the real deal... if you've ever served...and known Rangers.. Tracy is a perfect example of what a real Army Ranger is..

What he sees on the Fire he has described fairly well. What I see, for the most part, is Men who have a strong senses of Right and Wrong, and are disturbed to dismayed at how much Wrong is domination our society.. To All the Good Men on the 'Fire, and clearly most of you are: Please stay. You guys are my respite from a life full of Starmen.

Doesn't matter, old or young, fat or skinny, healthy or not, weak or strong, brave or timid, devoutly religious or atheist, packing a weapon or not, highly skilled with a gun or not, the bad guys almost always have the option to draw first blood if they so chose.
In a crowed situation the unknown is who it will be they take out first?
Will it be you, me or someone else? Great post.

You have to read between the lines............what he is really saying is that if those people hadn't been in a church, worshipping the Lord, the shooting wouldn't have happened. The atheist in him thinks it's wrong for people to believe in God, and therefore be in a place of worship in the first place.
Boy, is he going to be in for a surprise when he stands before God on Judgment Day.

If starman would say that he is a veteran, even a 2- year tater peeler, all would be forgiven. He’d even get his boots licked.

Starman makes a stupid post and garners 5 pages of response. Unless I missed it he has not responded or conversed beyond making a stupid OP.
I LIKE to read the opinions of people with which I don’t agree. I don’t like to read the thoughts of stupid people. They are worthy of being placed on ignore, of being considered accursed.
Time for everyone to put this one on ignore and watch the light of its star fade.

The old man trying to draw did not exercise good judgement, he tried to draw on an aimed gun. He might have tried to duck down to pull his gun. This is the second video I have seen when someone thinks they can draw on an aimed gun. OTOH the man did what he thought was right and died trying to stop evil. I don’t know starman but he appears to be Socialist liberal. He calls us out but I suspect he would do no better and possibly worse. Starman would be the one hiding under the pews with the women and using them as a shield. He's nothing but a gut-less bully.

I take it your friends with Starman by trying to divert the onslaught onto you or are you trying to wrest the a sshole post of the year from him? Seriously, just trying to figure your disdain for members of the armed forces...
A good principle to guide me through life: “This is all I have come to expect, standard lackluster performance. Trust nothing, believe no one and realize it will only get worse…”
