Caspar Milquetoast Carter let this whole mess get started. Reagan, and everyone who followed him just kicked the can down the road. It's way past time that somebody took the bull by the horns and put the smackdown on these raghead goons. Let's do it with unmanned weapons and as many resources other than boots on the ground, as much as possible. Cripple them economically, and destroy their oil-shipping capability, and let them collapse internally. Then once the people there are ready to make a change, let's support them as fully as possible.

The kids got home from school and practice about the time I heard the news. The first thing WE did, before learning any details or casualty reports, was to say a quick prayer for those patriots that put their lives on the line to so that we can sleep soundly at night.
