A friend of mine just went through this procedure, he had stage 4 in the back of his throat so the surgery was pretty invasive, then he went to chemo afterwords.

Prayers for your Mom and your family. Prayer, as we know, is powerful. My family has been touched too many times by this disease.
Father, please bless this fine woman with your grace and healing. Please grant her comfort and bless her surgeons, oncologists and care staff. Thank you and we’ll give you the glory. Thank you, amen.

LONG day in a hospital waiting room. We got there at 6 am and they came to get Mom around 7. Between 2:30 and 3:00 the doc came and saw us and said everything went good and she could be brought to ICU in an hour. We went up to see her once she got there and she was just barely coming to. We let her hear our voices and words of encouragement and left so she could rest.
Man, it is tough seeing one of your parents in that condition. Head swelled up like basketball, stitches from ear to ear on her neck etc. but we are through the big part. Now we just pray for quick healing and no infection.
I told Mom how many people she had praying for her from all over the country and she was amazed by that and so very thankful.

Went and spent the afternoon with Mom in the ICU. My Dad and sisters were already there and I was amazed to see her sitting up in a chair. The swelling from yesterday has gone down dramatically. She was able to communicate by writing on a small white board. She's pretty miserable with the trach and feeding tube and she's not out of the woods yet but otherwise it was pretty positive.
